RED DEER, Alta. - Two men face weapons and drug charges following a raid by more than 100 police on a property in southern Alberta.

RCMP say four people were arrested April 15 at a rural home near Markerville.

Officers seized quantities of meth, cocaine, steroids, the date rape drug GHB and six firearms.

The RCMP bomb squad also seized a number of small explosives found on the property.

Michael Schaab, who is 42, and Gary Ritchie, who is 37, are to appear in Red Deer court this week.

Two others who were arrested have been released from custody without being charged.

"RCMP have received a number of complaints about suspicious activity occurring on this property," Staff Sergeant Gary Rhodes said Wednesday in a release.

"That lead the task force to take a close look at the property, and we initiated a targeted investigation in late October of 2014, focusing on drug trafficking and property crimes."
