New Heights: The 10 Tallest Towers Transforming Toronto's Yonge And Bloor Area

LOOK: This Is Quickly Becoming Canada's New Tallest Neighbourhood
Mizrahi Developments

BuzzBuzzHome: The corner of Yonge and Bloor will soon give Toronto's Financial District a run for its money when it comes to building height. The major intersection is undergoing jaw-dropping changes with new structures aiming for heights that exceed even the tallest bank towers.

In March, Mizrahi Developments released their vision for The One at 1 Bloor Street West (rendering above), a skyscraper that would stand 318.6 metres or 1,045 feet tall – dwarfing the city’s current tallest tower, First Canadian Place. If the City of Toronto greenlights the design, The One would not just be the tallest in Toronto, but the tallest skyscraper in all of Canada.

But the buildings in the immediate region are also ambitious. We looked at current buildings, projects currently under construction and proposed towers in the immediate area of Yonge and Bloor to see how the area is set to transform over the next few years. Below are the 10 tallest buildings in the area roughly bordered by the east side of Bay Street, the west side of Yonge Street, the north end of Charles Street and the southern half of Davenport and Church streets.

A majority of the buildings are newcomers (only two have already been built) and most are residential.
