Jets played through pain: Trouba with broken hand, Ladd with hernia

Had the Winnipeg Jets advanced into the second round of the playoffs, Jacob Trouba might not have been in the lineup.

The team revealed on Friday that the star defenceman broke a bone in his left hand. It happened in Game 2 of the series against the Anaheim Ducks.

Trouba, who is set to undergo surgery, told reporters he could only use two fingers on his left hand after Game 2.

Meanwhile, captain Andrew Ladd, who suffered a sports hernia, will see a specialist and might opt for surgery. He said the injury limited his explosiveness on skates, but was not a major issue.
