Bowman wanted the province to hand over one per cent of the provincial sales tax collected in Winnipeg, saying that would amount to $150.
Bowman says the city is spending $103 million on roads this year, including Portage, Ness, Pembina, Henderson, Main and St. James.
Premier Greg Selinger says the province will forward the city’s two top major infrastructure priorities — underpasses at Waverley and Taylor, and Marion and Archibald — to the federal government for consideration for Building Canada funds.
He would not commit to forwarding the city’s two other main priorities — widening Kenaston and extending Chief Peguis Trail.
