Met Gala 2015: Best Beauty Looks Of The Night (PHOTOS)

The Best Beauty Looks From The Met Gala

By now we know that an outfit isn't all about the clothing and accessories -- hair and makeup play a big role too. And at the 2015 Met Gala, A-listers, style stars and fashion's elite pulled out all the stops when it came to their beauty looks.

The evening saw several celebrities sticking to the theme of the night, "China: Through The Looking Glass," with stars like Liu Wen, Adriana Lima and Diane Kruger sporting winged liner and bold lips. Others, like Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner opted for more natural looks, while Rihanna went full-out with eyebrows traditionally seen in Chinese opera.

Check out the best Met Gala beauty looks below!

We almost didn't recognize Adriana Lima! Her dramatic makeover proves the power of makeup shows no bounds. According to makeup artist Makeup artist Morgane Martini , the model's look was inspired by the iconic imagery of Helmut Newton -- strong and glamorous -- and featured a sexy smokey eye, strong lashes, bold burgundy lips and ultra-luminous skin.

This look is classic Kendall, and we love it. A touch of eyeliner on the upper lids, a few coats of mascara, groomed brows and a nude lip shade are all you need to emulate the model's signature beauty look.
Claire Danes

And the best vampy lip goes to...Claire Danes! Created by celeb makeup artist Martin for NARS, the look was inspired by Chinese illustrations from the 1920s and featured a maroon wash over the eyes and cheeks and a stained dark cherry lip.
Diane Kruger

Kudos to Diane Kruger for sporting the winged liner without going overboard. We love the soft grey hues on her eyes, and that soft cherry lip adds that extra pop of colour.
Beyonce

Beyonce's glowing makeup look matched her naked dress perfectly. That winged eyeliner added a touch of drama, while the pale pink lip and bronze hues stayed with her nude theme. Oh and that high pony? OBSESSED.
Rihanna

Rihanna (tastefully) paid tribute to Chinese opera by donning straight, exaggerated eyebrows, which were typically seen on performers, and kept the rest simple. We're also digging the flipped out hair.
Jennifer Lawrence

JLaw looked like a total babe with her sexy, bronzed look. Mauve eyeshadow and a pink lip were a nice finishing touch.
Gigi Hadid

This fresh, dewy look was oh-so-Gigi, and we've deemed it our go-to for summer. Inspired by a recent runway show in Paris, makeup artist Patrick Ta used champagne and neutral shades for the model's eyes, and finished off with a gel eyeliner and lots of mascara for youthful look.

Jessica Chastain went Old Hollywood glam with red lips and finger waves. The inspiration? "Modern Rita Hayworth with strong references to the golden era of Hollywood."
Liu Wen

Liu Wen brought understated glamour to the red carpet with this look. Her eye makeup was kept simple, save for some eyeliner on the upper lids and a few coats of mascara, and the rest of her face was kept fresh and clean. The piece de resistance? That berry lip. Love.
Helen Mirren

Proof that beauty is ageless. Helen Mirren looked stunning with that bold red lip to match her dress and earrings.
Jourdan Dunn

According to makeup artist Frances Hathaway, Jourdan's makeup look was created to reflect the tones in her graphic cut-out dress. Hathaway used mauve shades on the model's lids and crease, and then applied bronze and purple hues to her lower lash line for a glow-y effect.
Amanda Seyfried

Amanda Seyfried also hopped on the dark lip bandwagon, which was a nice contrast to her white gown. Centre parted, slicked-back hair was a smart choice, putting her beauty look in full view.
Kerry Washington

So fresh and so pretty! Kerry Washington's beauty look perfectly complemented her princess gown, with the subtle smokey eye and pink lip.
Kate Hudson

We love everything about Kate Hudson's beauty look, from the shimmery gold shadow to the red lip and that messy topknot. Perfection.
