Woman Curls Her Hair While Speeding On B.C. Highway (VIDEO)

What? How?

Well, this is distracted driving like we've never seen.

A woman was caught on video curling her hair — while driving on a Vancouver Island highway at 90 km/h. The driver expertly twirls her hair around what looks like a curling iron, and doesn't appear to touch the wheel once during the entire video.

The footage was shot by another passenger travelling on the highway north of Nanaimo and uploaded to YouTube Sunday.

B.C. Transportation Minister Todd Stone said the video proves that dangerous distractions behind the wheel aren't limited to electronic devices.

“Looking at a video like this, it certainly makes a strong case for perhaps broadening the message [around distracted driving] to beyond just perhaps texting, or talking on your phone," Stone told Global News. "You need to have both hands on the wheel, you need to keep your eyes on the road.”

If the driver was identified, Saanich police told the outlet she would likely be charged with driving without due care and attention. That offence comes with a fine of $368.
