TTC streetcar driver charged after pedestrian fatally struck

A 27-year-old TTC streetcar driver is facing two charges after he allegedly hit a pedestrian while driving on St. Clair Avenue West in March.

The streetcar was approaching Arlington Avenue on March 20, at approximately 8:40 p.m., when police say it struck a pedestrian. 

The pedestrian later died.

The driver is charged with:

- Fail to yield to pedestrian

- Careless driving

He is scheduled to appear at Old City Hall on June 4.
