BONAVISTA, N.L. - The Bonavista Historic Townscape Foundation is getting $1.1 million from the government of Newfoundland and Labrador to complete the third phase of its harbourfront restroration project.

Tourism Minister Darin King says the project will revitalize a prime tourist location in the town.

The first two phases of the restoration include the renovation and redevelopment of streets, historic properties and landscaping along the harbourfront area of Bonavista.

The province says the money for the third phase will be used to make the entire waterfront attractive and safe for pedestrians.

The government says additional funding of $1.3 million for the project will come from the foundation and the private sector.
