Westmount High students, supporters protest against cuts

A group of protesters held picket signs outside of Westmount High School on Friday morning, denouncing the Liberals' cuts to different areas of education that they say would affect the school greatly.

The students, teachers, parents and school staff have a expressed a number of grievances against Philippe Couillard's government, including:

- Salary and pension for teachers.

- Removal of limits on class size.

- Removal of the weighting system for special-needs students.

- Funding cuts for resources teachers that would see four full-time positions cut.

- Possible funding cuts to after-school homework program.

The group organizing the protests said it will hold weekly demonstrations every Friday morning.
