Pedestrian dead after Highway 427 collision

A pedestrian is dead after being struck on Highway 427 Saturday afternoon.

Ontario Provincial Police have closed northbound ramps onto Highway 427 from the Gardiner Expressway and Queen Elizabeth Way, Sergeant Kerry Schmidt, with the OPP's highway safety division, told CBC News.

It appears a pedestrian was struck on the highway, Schmidt said.

Paramedics said one person is dead.
