Police seek public's help in Spadina and Adelaide sex assault

Police are seeking help from the public after a woman reported a sexual assault early Saturday morning.

While walking in the Spadina Avenue and Adelaide Street West area at about 4 a.m., police say a man followed a woman for a short period of time and eventually, approached the woman from behind. Police allege he then sexually assaulted her.

Police describe him as a young black man, 5'8" - 5'9", with a distinctive high-cut afro hairstyle. He was wearing blue or purple shorts, a blue or purple hooded sweatshirt and open-toed shoes, according to a description offered by police.
