Four people, including two children, seriously hurt in Alberta collision

GIBBONS, Alta. - The long weekend has gotten off to a bad start on Alberta highways.

On Friday night, two adults and two children suffered life-threatening injuries in a two-vehicle crash near Gibbons.

Morinville RCMP says the collision between an SUV and a semi happened on Highway 28A at the junction of Highway 643.

The driver and lone occupant of the semi received minor injuries.

The four occupants of the SUV were all taken by air ambulance to hospitals in Edmonton.

Alcohol, speed and road conditions are not believed to be factors in the collision.
