BlackBerry Ltd. (TSX:BB). Wireless communications. Down 29 cents, or 2.38 per cent, to $11.92 on 1.7 million shares. The Waterloo, Ont., smartphone maker said Monday that it reached a patent infringement settlement with Typo, a maker of iPhone keyboards co-founded by "American Idol" host Ryan Seacrest. BlackBerry had accused Typo of ripping off its design. Under the agreement, Typo Products LLC will be banned from selling keyboards for mobile devices with a screen size that's less than 7.9 inches, essentially knocking them out of the iPhone market.
Saputo Inc. (TSX:SAP). Up two cents, or 0.06 per cent, to $33.85 on 242,759 shares. The Canadian dairy giant wants farmers around the world to commit in writing to treat animals humanely, vowing to refuse milk from any that fail to do so.
