Two men were sent to hospital, one in serious condition, after a shooting Sunday night at an industrial strip mall in the city's east end.

Police were called at around 9:20 p.m. to an area near Kennedy Road and Steeles Avenue, where they found two men with gunshot injuries.

One man, in his mid-30s, was shot in his chest and rushed to Sunnybrook Hospital's trauma centre in serious condition.

The second man, in his mid-40s, was shot in his right hand and taken to a Scarborough hospital. His injuries are not life-threatening.

Police are looking for suspects, but no descriptions have yet been made available.

Investigators spent hours Sunday night combing a parking lot in a grid search trying to gather casings and other evidence.
