Erinne Paisley hoped to raise money for the Malala Fund, a non-profit organization that campaigns for girls' education around the world.
"I actually just made it throughout one day with my best friend and we used a lot of scotch tape, a lot of... satin wiring to hold the dress together," said Paisley.
The dress also featured the quote, "I've received my education. Not every woman has that right. Malala.org," in red ink.
Paisley, who is graduating from Reynolds Secondary School, says she was inspired by Nobel Peace Prize Winner, Yousafzai, after seeing her speak at the 2014 We Day event in the U.K.
"Being in the same room as her and everything was so touching, and I was inspired to an extent I can't even describe," she said.
Paisley has donated the $250 she saved on the dress to the Malala Fund and is now trying to sell the dress for $5,000 to raise more funds on Etsy.Suggest a correction
