Best Patios Vancouver: Finding The Perfect Spot

Patio season is ramping up in Vancouver, and people are already craving some relaxing time with a good drink in hand.

But how to find the best spot?

Rather than flopping into the first table you see, hospitality expert Janice Martin suggests that you take a moment to think about what kind of experience you're looking for.

Are you looking for a cozy nest for a romantic lunch? Or do you and your friends want a prime perch for people-watching?

She says check out the seats beforehand to see if they're comfortable — "they might look pretty, but not sit pretty" — and if the music will be distracting or pleasant.

It's also worth keeping an eye on the patio servers, Martin says, to see if there are enough of them to handle the summer rush. (No one likes to be kept waiting in the blazing heat.)
