North York highrises soaked after massive water main burst

Firefighters were called to two North York highrises overnight to deal with a massive water main break that flooded the underground garage of one of the buildings.

The towers at 190 and 200 Exbury Road, near Jane Street and Wilson Avenue, were left without fire protection systems after the breakage forced a shutdown.

Crews were eventually able to build a small diversion channel to direct the water into city catch basins.

A contractor has been called in to fix the breakage.

The domestic water supply to the buildings was left on.
