Firefighters search for teen who went over Scarborough bluffs

Toronto firefighters sent a rescuer over the edge at the Scarborough bluffs on Monday afternoon to look for a high school student who disappeared there at lunch time on Monday.

Toronto fire said it's unclear if the 15-year-old boy was attempting to climb down the bluffs at Bluffer's Park Trail or fell over them, but he was reportedly seen sliding down the steep cliffs when he was last seen by friends at lunch time.

Firefighters got the call around 3:30 p.m. after he didn't return to school. So far, firefighters have yet to spot the teen, though they say it's possible he was able to get back up the bluffs on his own.

City lifeguards and a helicopter are also in the area looking for the boy.
