Fox Sports Confuses Moncton With Vancouver During Women's World Cup

Moncton and Vancouver are both hosting Women's World Cup games. But the similarities pretty much end there.

When you cover a sporting event in another country, it's natural to make a few mistakes.

But Fox Sports in the U.S. made a big one when it appeared to confuse Vancouver for Moncton, N.B. during its coverage of the FIFA Women's World Cup.

This screengrab, apparently from a Fox Sports broadcast, drew a round of mockery when it was posted on Reddit and Imgur Tuesday.

Moncton and Vancouver are indeed two cities where the Women's World Cup is taking place. But the similarities pretty much end there.

For the record, this is what Moncton's actual skyline looks like.

Reddit users had plenty of fun with the error.

One user said, "Moncton, NB: Year 2150."

The original poster replied, "I was thinking 2500 lol."

We'd be more forgiving if Fox Sports hadn't set up a two-storey broadcasting studio near the Vancouver Convention Centre.

And presumably be able to look out the window at that beautiful Vancouver skyline.
