York Police seeking 2 suspects for alleged assault on teen

York Regional Police are asking the public to help them identify two suspects wanted in connection with an alleged sexual assault in Markham.

Police say that at approximately 8 p.m. on June 2, a 15-year-old girl was walking alone in the area of Steeles Avenue and Middlefield Road when a man driving a black, four-door car pulled up to the intersection and began chatting with her.

They say that after the teen got into the car, the suspect picked up a male friend from his home, and the two took the teen to a hotel room where she was sexually assaulted by both suspects.

On Wednesday, police released a composite sketch of the suspect who was driving the vehicle. They are asking anyone who recognizes the man to contact them at 1-866-876-5423, ext. 7071, or to contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS.

Police say the second suspect is brown, in his early 20s, about 5'10" and has short, black hair.
