Man arrested after allegedly crashing stolen tow truck near OPP detachment

Police arrested a man after he allegedly stole a tow truck early Friday morning and crashed it into a flower bed.

The man was first driving a Honda on Highway 400 when he was involved in a single vehicle collision. He allegedly stole the tow truck that arrived to tow the crashed Honda.

Ontario Provincial Police officers spotted the stolen tow truck and chased it through the streets.

The driver allegedly crashed the tow truck into a flower bed metres away from the Downsview OPP detachment near Keele Street and Wilson Avenue.

He allegedly fled the scene on foot. Police arrested the man after a brief pursuit.
