Man Shot With Crossbow In Calgary Parkade

The man was able to drive himself to hospital, but was later listed in life-threatening condition.

Calgary police are investigating after man showed up in hospital with a life-threatening crossbow arrow wound this morning.

The man drove himself to the Sheldon Chumir health centre with an arrow lodged in him just after 3 a.m. Monday, reports the Calgary Herald.

He told hospital staff he had been shot with a crossbow in a random attack in a condo parkade in the 800 block of 4 Avenue S.W.

Det. Jack Russell told the Calgary Sun the man was then transported to the Foothills Hospital, where he has been listed in life-threatening condition.

CBC News reports the arrow from the crossbow pierced both the man's shoulder and neck.

The parkade has been closed off by police as they continue to investigate.
