EDMONTON - An Edmonton man is facing child exploitation charges for allegedly taking nude photos of a 16-year-old girl.

Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams say two separate investigations resulted in the arrest of 36-year-old William Swanson.

It's alleged he posed as a professional photographer to befriend and then take nude photos of the girl.

It's also alleged he shared the images over the Internet from a work camp in Fort McMurray, Alta.

Swanson has been in custody since his arrest on May 26.

He is scheduled to appear in court on June 17 on charges of making and possessing child pornography and making sexually explicit material available to a child.

Members of Alberta Sheriffs, Calgary, Edmonton, Lethbridge and Medicine Hat police forces and RCMP work in ALERT.
