Hot, sticky and humid weather is ahead, and if you don't have air conditioning at home, it may feel like you're sitting and slowly roasting in an oven.
In the video above, The List's Ariel Wesler offers easy tips on how you (and the kids!) can stay cool in the comfort of your home without turning on the air conditioning. For example, Wesler recommends moving your mattress to the floor during summer months — the lower you are, the cooler it is.
And with the AC off, you're also more likely to save money on your energy bill. Other ways to cut back on costs with an air conditioner is by also turning on your ceiling fan at the same time (cold air will circulate), adding a window unit and calculating your costs for buying a new AC unit ahead of time.
Watch the video above and let us know if you have tricks up your dry sleeves. Oh, and you will even learn how to make your own AC by the end of it!
