Teen faces charges after running across field in FIFA Women's World Cup game

A teenage boy from Dufresne, Man., is facing charges after he ran onto the field during a FIFA Women's World Cup game June 15.

China and New Zealand tied 2-2 in a game at Investors Group Field in Winnipeg Monday.

During that game, security guards were led on a wild chase after someone ran across the field.

A 15-year-old male is now facing mischief charges in connection with the incident.

He was released from custody on a promise to appear in court.
