A 12-year-old Hammond Plains skater has spun her way into Guiness World Records.

Olivia Rybicka-Oliver achieved 342 rpm while performing at a children's charity event on Jan. 19 in  Warsaw, Poland. She was 11 at the time.

She smashed the previous record of 308 rpm set in 2006 by Natalia Kanounnikova, 26, of Russia at the Rockefeller Center, New York City.

"We had to send reports, videos, media footage and witness statements to Guinness World Records in London, England, and then the waiting period was quite long, but I'm so happy it finally came through," she said in a news release Monday.

Her appearance at the Warsaw event raised $20,000 to grant wishes made by children with life-threatening diseases.

Olivia now has a new fundraising campaign. Together with her parents, she is raising money to bring two terminally ill children from Poland to Canada on their "wish trip" to visit the country of their dreams and Olivia will be one of the chaperones on the journey.
