REGINA - The Saskatchewan government says a new application process will get skilled foreign workers into the province faster.

Provincial Immigration Minister Jeremy Harrison has announced a new online application system called Saskatchewan Express Entry.

He says the wait for workers in the province's Immigrant Nominee Program will be reduced to six months from a year or more.

He also says that the streamlined process will add about 775 workers to the program.

Harrison says the workers are needed and will also result in more jobs for people in Saskatchewan.
