Women Take A Stand Against Makeup Shaming By Wearing It On Half Their Faces

#ThePowerOfMakeup.

A little makeup never hurt anybody...but some people seem to think otherwise.

In retaliation to the shaming, the fierce women of Instagram are taking a stand by posting stunning pictures of themselves with makeup applied to only half their face. Inspired by Dutch YouTuber NikkieTutorials' "The Power Of Makeup" video, these women have been using the hashtag #ThePowerOfMakeup to invite other women to join the movement.

The supposed problem with makeup seems to lie in the idea that someone can't feel naturally beautiful and appreciate the help that cosmetics have to offer. These photos, however, tell a different story.

The photos are not taking any one side of the makeup debate -- rather, they are celebrating a woman's choice to wear makeup or not.

But let's be real: makeup for many is an art form, and for others a boost of confidence. Why take away someones sense of comfort with themselves?

We love these ladies for starting a dialogue about makeup shaming and showing us just how ridiculous it is.
