Connor McDavid Will Likely Be 'Taken' By The Oilers. And Liam Neeson Can't Save Him.

The Edmonton Oilers might be too powerful an enemy for even Liam Neeson to subdue.

Liam Neeson has done battle with human traffickers in Paris and Istanbul.

But the Edmonton Oilers might be too powerful for even him to subdue.

Sports website Grantland has released a video parodying the "Taken" movie franchise as the Oilers are set to choose top prospect Connor McDavid with the first overall pick in the NHL Entry Draft on June 26 and 27.

The video casts McDavid as Neeson's son, forced to play for a moribund franchise that has failed to make the playoffs since losing the Stanley Cup to the Carolina Hurricanes in 2006.

It casts Wayne Gretzky as his kidnapper, wishing Neeson luck as he tries to find him again.

If he couldn't save Taylor Hall and Nail Yakupov from playing for an underachieving team, who's to say he could retrieve McDavid?
