Canadiens select Noah Juulsen with 1st round pick

The Montreal Canadiens have selected Noah Juulsen, a defenceman with the Everett Silvertips in the Western Hockey League, with their first pick in the 2015 NHL draft.

In his second full season with the Silvertips, the native of Surrey, B.C., recorded nine goals and 43 assists in 2014-2014.

The six-foot-two defenceman isn't the first Silvertip to be drafted by the Canadiens.

Last year, Montreal used its 26th pick on Juulsen's teammate Nikita Scherbak.
