The U.S. Supreme Court made gay marriage legal across the country on Friday, and legions of joyous supporters took to social media to celebrate the ruling.

The hashtag #LoveWins (among many others on the court's ruling) began trending on Twitter. President Barack Obama using it in this tweet might have helped it spread just a bit.

Today is a big step in our march toward equality. Gay and lesbian couples now have the right to marry, just like anyone else. #LoveWins
