Gatineau police need help identifying body found in Ottawa River

Gatineau police need the public's help to identify the body of a man in his 50s found in the Ottawa River almost one month ago.

Police say the body was found on May 31 by a worker at a hydroelectric dam near Eddy Street.

Investigators spent almost a month trying to identify the man but is forced to appeal to the public for assistance.

Police say the man has the following traits:

- Caucasian, about 55 years old.

- Stands five feet five inches tall.

- Weighs about 220 lbs.

- Grey hair, but balding near forehead.

- Wore black Oakley brand sandals size 10 and Mountain Ridge brand navy shorts, size XL.

- Had a dark Mountain Ridge brand camisole size XL and a dark-coloured Canda brand jacket size XXL.

- Man had scar from an appendectomy.
