Windstorm knocks out power to 10,000 on Lower Mainland

BC Hydro crews are hard at work after a windstorm knocked out power to parts of Metro Vancouver last night.

At its peak 10,000 customers were without power across the Lower Mainland and the Sunshine Coast.

About 2,800 customers were still without power at 7 a.m. PT Monday, including customers in West Vancouver, Burnaby, Vancouver and Belcarra.

BC Hydro says it expects to have power fully restored to most areas by 10 a.m.
