Someone stuffed clothes into a toilet at the Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal, causing thousands of dollars in damage.

Vancouver Island RCMP said it happened in a men's washroom in the foot passenger area of the terminal on May 27. They released a photo Monday of a person of interest in the case.

The clothes clogged the pipes so badly that an office below the bathroom was flooded with sewage, said a news release. Damage that included drywall and floor repairs was estimated at $50,000.

The person who clogged the toilet could be charged with mischief over $5,000.
