Montreal police are looking for a man they think may have stolen a $160,000 sculpture from a Westmount art gallery.

The stainless-steel sculpture was taken from the gallery over a month ago.

A security camera captured a man walking by the gallery's storefront around 12:30 a.m. on May 20. Less than an hour later, the same man allegedly used the gallery's back door to enter the business and snatch the sculpture.

The artwork measures 64 centimetres high by 31 cm wide and 45 centimetres deep.

The suspect is described by police as a white man with brown hair who, at the time of the crime, was wearing grey pants, a dark-blue t-shirt, a grey hoodie, a navy-coloured baseball cap with white littering and dark-coloured shoes with white lines.

Police are asking anyone with information on the theft to call anonymous tip line Info-Crime at 514-595-1133.
