Bear spray released in Etobicoke highrise

Several residents of an Etobicoke highrise had a rough night after someone discharged bear spray in the building.

Police, paramedics and the fire department were called to an apartment tower at 2667 Kipling Avenue, north of Finch Avenue West, shortly after midnight.

Nobody was taken to hospital, but several sat on the sidewalk and coughed while others reported a burning sensation in their eyes.

Part of the building had to be ventilated following the incident.
