Toronto police are asked for the public's help with tracking down two championship rings that were stolen from an Etobicoke home on Canada Day.

Police say a quantity of jewellery was stolen after a home in the The Kingsway and Prince Edward Drive North area was broken into.

Among the items stolen were a Toronto Blue Jays World Series ring from 1993 and a Montreal Canadiens Stanley Cup ring from 1977.

Championship rings routinely sell for upwards of $10,000.

Anyone who comes across the rings or who has information about the theft is asked to contact police or anonymously contact Crime Stoppers.
