Phew.
Toronto can breathe a sigh of relief: The CN Tower is not on fire. Although, it did look like it for a few minutes Thursday evening.

But shortly after reports of heavy smoke began circulating on Twitter around 8 p.m., Toronto Fire confirmed the skyscraper was not on fire. The smoke was simply part of a pyrotechnic display rehearsal for the Pan Am Games.

While Toronto Fire was aware the fireworks would take place, they told the Toronto Star they had “no idea of the volume of smoke” they would generate.
The evening's second test-run produced much better results, we think.
The Pan Am Games officially kick off tomorrow, and we suddenly have a feeling they're going to be a lot more exciting than we thought.
