CBC's David Common tried a number of Pan Am sports in the run-up to the Games to see how challenging it really is to be among the best.

Just how do you get a horse to dance? Belinda Trussell has done it for years.

At the Pan Am Games, Trussell and her mount Anton will display the symbiotic relationship between rider and horse, both highly trained.

They will have a much easier commute to this competition than their usual week spent on planes and trucks. This time, they will be able to set out from their Ontario farm on the day of competition.

Watch as Trussell shows CBC's David Common some of the skills involved in equestrian competition.
