MONTREAL - A collision between two vehicles Saturday night in southwest Quebec's Monteregie region has left three people dead and one seriously injured.

A motorist lost control of his vehicle while trying to pass in the right lane and hit an oncoming vehicle.

The driver who caused the crash is fighting for his life in hospital after his car rolled several times.

The three occupants of the second vehicle died.

Provincial police say speed may have caused the crash, alcohol was not a factor.
