Conservative MP Wai Young compared Stephen Harper's to Jesus during a church congregation last month and until recently the story had remained quiet.
Audio of the sermon surfaced Tuesday of the B.C. backbencher saying the Conservative government's actions are "in the same vein" as the son of God's.
And of course Twitter had a few witty words to say about it via #CPCJesus.
Here are some of the best Twitter reactions to Young's ethereal proclamation.
