Canada's men's beach volleyball duo made quick work of the Guatemalans in their second match of the preliminary round on Wednesday afternoon.

Top-seeded Josh Binstock and Sam Schachter easily claimed their first straight-sets victory of the Pan Am Games, taking both sets 21-9 over Luis Garcia Betancourt and Julio Recinos Ocana.

The Canadian pair, who hail from Richmond Hill, Ont., rebounded after a close opening match on Tuesday night. The 16th-seeded Nicaraguans gave the host nation's team more than it was expecting in a close 2-1 game.

The men's team concludes preliminary-round action Thursday at 9 p.m. ET against Uruguay.

Canada's women will also play Uruguay to close out preliminary round matches Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET.
