A group of friends is hoping to inspire Montrealers to get out of their comfort zone after seeing their attempts on their web series, Project 30.

They're tracking 30 days of risk-taking by posting an original video every day for a month, from trespassing, to eating insects to scoring a meeting with the mayor.

After a few thousand views for each episode, the web series went viral on Saturday. In episode 18, the group walked into Montreal's Ritz Carlton Hotel in an attempt to sign premier league soccer players to an imaginary team.

Within 24 hours, more than 100,000 people had watched the episode.

"We were all freaking out, jumping around the apartment. But it's also scary because now we know people are actually watching," creator Thomas Brag told CBC.

The team is still planning their final eight days, but they say it has already been the best month of their lives.

"People learn the most when they get out of their comfort zone," Brag said. "You learn so much about yourself and the world around you."
