Frightening Video Shows Funnel Cloud Nearly Touching Down In Calgary

"Don’t do it. Don’t do it. Don’t touch down."

The sight of a dark funnel cloud forming over Calgary alarmed residents Wednesday — then locals spotted the spout starting to grow.

A video captured by YouTube user Galodude caught how the funnel cloud looked like to those on the ground.

Environment Canada issued a tornado warning after reports of the funnel cloud and golf ball-sized hail in the city’s southwest were called in. The city is no longer under a tornado advisory.

More footage shot by Daniel Zubel captures onlookers pleading for the tornado spout to go away.

“Don’t do it. Don’t do it. Don’t touch down,” someone is heard saying off-camera.

Residents have been reminded to seek shelter in basements, if possible, if the severe thunderstorm worsens.

“If you hear a roaring sound or see a funnel cloud, swirling debris near the ground, flying debris, or any threatening weather approaching, take shelter immediately,” meteorologists reminded.
