Toronto police release image of suspect in Danforth shooting

Toronto police are asking for the public's help to identify a suspect in Wednesday evening's east-end shooting.

Police have released an image taken from security camera footage of a suspect last seen fleeing the scene at Danforth Avenue and Woodbine Avenue. Police were called to the area around 8 p.m. Wednesday and found a 28-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Several eyewitnesses told CBC News that a man was walking with a woman and her child when another man approached and opened fire.

The victim was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries. On Thursday morning, police said the victim was in serious but stable condition.

The suspect was seen fleeing the area in a 2006-2008 dark-blue 3 Series BMW with tinted windows.
