Marilyn Korzekwa to attempt 3-province, 25-hour Maritimes swim

An Ontario woman will attempt a three-province swim in the Maritimes this weekend.

Marilyn Korzekwa, 58, plans to start the 47-kilometre swim in Nova Scotia, stopping in Borden, P.E.I., and then onto New Brunswick.

She's already swam the English Channel, the Strait of Catalina in California and taken part in the Manhattan Island Marathon Swim.

Korzekwa says this swim has a special meaning.

"I'll feel like I'm making Canadian history. The tide is kind of, going to toss me around and hopefully that won't prevent me from reaching my goals," she said.

Korzekwa says the swim could take up to 25 hours.
