Good morning. Here's what you need to know as you head out the door this Friday, July 24, 2015. 

Weather

It's going to be a hot one today with a forecast high of 30 C. Hot, humid conditions and possibly some thunderstorms are in the weekend forecast, with daily highs near the 30 C mark.

​Traffic

As of 6 a.m., there were no major traffic problems on the roads and both the TTC and GO transit were running normally.

Pan Am Games

Canada's golden run at these games continued Thursday with Damian Warner of London, Ont., smashing records on the way to a gold-medal performance in the demanding decathlon event. Read about Warner's win here.

3-alarm fire on Joicey Boulevard

Fire crews are busy this morning battling a three-alarm fire at a house under construction on Joicey Boulevard, near Avenue Road and Wilson Avenue. No one was hurt in the fire. 

The three-storey home was fully engulfed and it took firefighters about an hour to get it under control. Some homes in the area were evacuated.

The fire marshal has been called in to investigate due to the value of the home.

As a result of the fire, Joicey is closed from Bathurst Street to West of Yonge Street. 

Motorcyclist dies in crash

One person is dead after a motorcyclist collided with a car on Bovaird Drive east of Heritage Road in Brampton. Overnight reporter Tony Smyth has this Tweet from the scene:
