Bobbi Kristina Brown Dead At 22: Whitney Houston And Bobby Brown's Daughter Dies Following Long Hospitalization

The only daughter of singers Bobby Brown and the late Whitney Houston had been unresponsive since being found in a bathtub in January.

Bobbi Kristina Brown, an aspiring singer and the only daughter of Bobby Brown and the late Whitney Houston, has died at the age of 22.

According to both TMZ and Entertainment Tonight, Brown passed away on Sunday surrounded by her family at the Peachtree Christian Hospice in Duluth, Georgia. NBC News has since confirmed these reports, and the Houston family has issued a statement to People Magazine.

"Bobbi Kristina Brown passed away July, 26 2015, surrounded by her family," the statement reads. "She is finally at peace in the arms of God. We want to again thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support during these last few months."

The Houston-Brown heiress had been unresponsive since Jan. 31 when she was found submerged in a bathtub in her Roswell, Georgia home. After being resuscitated by paramedics, she was placed in a medically induced coma from which she never recovered.

Brown was taken off of life support and transferred to the hospice care facility on June 24.

People Magazine reports authorities are still investigating the circumstances surrounding Brown's bathtub incident, as her aunt Leolah Brown claims Bobbi Kristina's boyfriend, Nick Gordon, is suspected of "foul play."

Gordon, along with friend Max Lomas, discovered a bruised and unconscious Brown in the bathtub before alerting emergency crews. A legal representative for Brown is suing Gordon for $10 million, claiming he allegedly abused and stole money from her. Some Brown family members take these claims even further, and say he should be investigated for attempted murder.

Family sources say Brown battled with substance abuse, and she also often used social media as a means to remember her mother Whitney.

Brown's bathtub incident occurred nearly three years after her mother was discovered unconscious in eerily similar circumstances on the eve of the 2012 Grammy Awards on Feb. 11, 2012. An investigation later found Houston had died from accidental drowning in a bathtub.

It is hard to say goodbye. On Sunday, July 26, Bobbi Kristina Brown made her transition peacefully. The family thanks...
