Pan Am Games conclude

The Games ended Sunday with fireworks, a closing ceremony and an inspired performance by rapper Kanye West.

With the wildly successful Games now over, talk has turned to whether Toronto can parlay the momentum into a successful Olympic Games bid for 2024. Read about the challenges Toronto may face here.

Mayor John Tory will be on CBC Radio's Metro Morning just after 7:10 a.m. to talk about how the city can capitalize on the success of the Games. You can listen on 99.1 FM or watch the live stream here.

Weather: Hot week ahead

The final week of July will bring scorching temperatures with little chance of rain. The forecast is calling for a high of 34 C on Wednesday. Monday will be a more reasonable 33 C.

Traffic and transit

With the Pan Am Games in the rear-view mirror, things should get a little easier on Toronto roads. CBC Traffic Reporter Lauire Turcott reminds us that on Monday, you still need three people in the car to use the HOV lanes but that drops to two people on Tuesday.

You can follow Laurie on Twitter here and listen to her reports on 99.1 FM.

Things were moving well on GTA roads and there were no major problems on the TTC or GO Transit system as of 6:20 a.m.
