There was trouble aboard a recent WestJet flight involving a drunk and belligerent passenger from B.C., Transport Canada has reported.

It happened last Wednesday on a flight from Calgary to Regina.

The passenger on the Boeing 737 became "intoxicated", and at one point tried to trip a flight attendant, the report released Monday said.

The customer was also "belligerent and disruptive", according to the report.

The crew requested that police be there when the aircraft arrived in Regina.

Officers arrested a 56-year-old man from Squamish, B.C.

He spent the night in cells and was released the next day. He wasn't charged.
